Hanover College Early Admit Program

Early Admit at Hanover College in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program is an admissions pathway that allows Hanoverians who earn an undergraduate degree from Hanover College and who meet minimum criteria to be offered priority admissions into a future designated OTD class. Both students working toward their baccalaureate and alumni who have graduated from Hanover College with a baccalaureate are eligible for Hanover’s OTD early admit pathway.

Hanover College The Early Admit Opportunity

  • Early admit as a pathway allows for early-action admissions. Students who are planning to attend graduate school and want to begin immediately following an undergraduate degree, may apply and be informed of acceptance into the Hanover OTD graduate program well in advance of all other general applicants. A preferred cohort entry date may be designated by each applicant. The early admit pathway offers up to 30 seats per academic year.
  • This is a great opportunity for both high school and undergraduate students, who know they want to study occupational therapy and be guaranteed an opportunity for graduate school. By setting future educational goals, financial planning for graduate studies may be initiated early.
  • An OTD advisement journey may begin as an undergraduate. The student who has declared interest in OTD may reach out to OTD admissions for advisement on prerequisite course selection during the undergraduate experience. Both an OTD advisor and OTD program designee will be assigned to check in occasionally and offer advisement.
  • The OTD early admit student bypasses many traditional requirements of graduate school admissions. Having a graduate program entry guarantee, the OTD early admit student would save costs by not having to apply to and interview with multiple graduate school programs. Already matriculated at Hanover College, the early admit student would not be required to pay the Hanover College enrollment fee.

Hanover College Early Admit for the Undergraduate

A Hanover student may choose to declare interest in OTD immediately upon matriculating as an undergraduate.

Undergraduate students who choose admissions through the early admit pathway are expected to meet the same admissions criteria and prerequisite requirements as the general applicant pool and complete the same application process. A Hanoverian undergraduate is recommended to reach out to the OTD enrollment advisor early. The advisor can answer both simple and complex questions about admissions and the program.

How to declare interest in OTD’s Early Admit Pathway:

  • Identify interest in OTD as you complete your Hanover College application. There will be a yes/no question if you are interested in OTD. Don’t worry if you become interested as a Sophomore or Junior. You can fill out the declaration of intent form anytime.
  • Complete an OTD declaration of intent form.
  • Designate your eligibility for the early admit pathway in OTCAS when you apply. Discuss this with the OTD enrollment advisor.

The sooner you apply, the greater the likelihood of being designated an early admit applicant. Only 30 seats per academic year are designated per cohort. Top candidates in the general applicant pool will be given equal priority to any empty early assurance seats October 15 through the start of classes the following January.

Students who take a course, but do not earn a degree from Hanover College are not eligible.

Hanover College The Early Admit Pathway for Alumni

A Hanover alumni will be provided priority admission if applying an as early admit applicant. Alumni who have earned a baccalaureate degree from Hanover College are eligible.
